![]() ![]() ![]() Stephanie belongs to the following professional organizations: the Maryland State Bar Association the Bar Association of Montgomery County, of which she is a former co-chair the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland the Montgomery County Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association, for which she served as Secretary the Montgomery County Chapter of the American Inns of Court, of which she is a Master of the Bench and member of the Executive Committee, as well has having frequently served as program group leader the Collaborative Divorce Association, Inc, of which she is a founding member and former co-president the AFCC (American Family Conciliation Courts, Maryland Chapter and the Simon Sobeloff Law Society, Montgomery County Chapter, of which she is also a founding member. If alternative dispute resolution has not been successful, she is also an experienced litigator. Stephanie is experienced in all forms of alternative dispute resolution: mediation, collaborative divorce, and settlement advocacy. While earning her degree in sociology from UALR she realized her passion for tackling the problem of hunger in Arkansas. Previously, she worked at Rock Creek as a receptionist, then administrative assistant, before leaving to return to school. She has served both as attorney and as guardian for the disabled person (but not at the same time) in such cases. Stephanie has also given educational presentations in this area to the Maryland State Bar Association and the Bar Association of Montgomery County. The other focus of Stephanie’s practice is guardianships for minors and disabled adults, which stems from her knowledge of the legal issues and federal and state benefits-related issues affecting the elderly and individuals with developmental, physical, and mental disabilities. In addition, Stephanie has given numerous educational presentations to the Montgomery County Family Law Section and the Maryland State Bar Association. She is frequently appointed by the Circuit Court for Montgomery County to represent children in contested custody matters. Stephanie concentrates primarily on family law matters handling divorce, custody, prenuptial agreements and step-parent adoptions.
